Bondage/Shibari Picnic Tenerife (day 2) (and behind the scenes!)

The last day of the Shibari Picnic Weekend, we wake up early, with amazing weather. After packing the tents we had a good breakfast and the first attendants arrive. There were even more people than saturday. When we were all there, we hiked down the cliff to one of the most beautiful natural pools in Tenerife.

Our first goal was to reach a natural lava arch with a pool inside, set up a safe point and tie with hempex. Apparently easy.

When we arrived at the sea, we spreaded in groups. Our group reached the arch after some climbing and jumping (ok, I have to admit that previous day we went down the cliff and explored a way to arrive there because it was not obvious).

We managed to set up the point, but tying with 6 mm hempex over a recent lava formation was not so easy.

These are the results of the first shooting:

Rigger and pictures: Zor, Model: Margout, Help: Andrés, Vouk, Myenna.

Then it was the turn of Vouk and Emma. There was an amazing little pool in front of the arch, and they wanted to do a non suspension, floating picture. Emma is extremely confident in water and the result is amazing, but i was not able to took decent pictures. I was missing my 50mm SO MUCH. Never leave your 50mm home.

Rigger: Vouk, Fotos: Zor, Modelo: Emma, Ayuda: Myenna & Tamy.

Then we went swimming to a super amazing and big natural pool, we explored some parts of the fajanas, found some sea sponges, a lot of crabs, and we really had an amazing time. The community there is truly healthy, everybody was helping each other, everybody was just having fun.

Unfortunately the Ultraviolet index of 11+ started to burn us a lot, so after a while we headed up the cliff to the cars and campervans to have super good barbecue 🙂

Here you have some pictures from the place and some behind the scenes.

Please always remember that most shibari pictures are fiction, not documentary. Some of these pictures are made by a team, there are lifters and safety people around. I will never dare to do pictures like these ones alone with Margot. Always rely on your team and friends for this kind of stuff. it is also a lot more fun! 🙂

I really can’t wait to come back to Tenerife. We made a lot of friends that days and had a very good time. Thanks.
