Expedition Unknown: From Extremadura to Portugal and Leon. (gallery)

Quick update with a gallery and some pictures of the trip, from Extremadura to Leon passing by Portugal.

This is Hervás, a beautiful town in valle del Jerte. The road to the town was amazing, full of small rivers, mountains and waterfalls and there were a thousand cherry trees with a lot of cherries. We ate a lot of them 🙂 The town is beautiful and it has an nice church, the jew quarters and an abandoned train bridge. I came hear like 20 years ago with an amazing girlfriend I had from Extremadura. The place was exactly the same.

We stayed at the abandoned town of Granadilla, in Extremadura. It has a beautiful castle and the landscape is incredible, with a big lake. In fact, the lake is the consequence of a dam, and the town has to be abandoned but at the end the lake didnt submerge the town, it just stopped at the houses level.

We were driving off road looking for a place to camp, wa had the Kinbaku Society of Berlin online meeting in the middle of nowhere and we finally found a nive place to camp. Very isolated.

So isolated that when we wake up we had a family of deers looking at us nd eating near the camper 🙂
