Reaching the Pyrinees.

After the cave exploration we headed towards Pamplona, to visit our good friends Hermes and SirOscuro 🙂 We went to Comillas, that has a nice cementery and ruins. We took the compulsory picture for Stuart and then we picked up our new phones. They just arrived to an amazon locker at a gas station. Amazing service for nomads 🙂

In the way to pamploma we took some off road tracks and tested how the campervan worked. Was very good, but we found a small car sinked in mud and their owners, a young couple, very worried.

The closest population was about 20 or 30 km and a crane was unable to go through that roads. They were covered in Mud, so we offered some help. First thing was to use a shovel to dig a trench and empty the mudpool. Then we took some recovery tools from the campervan to aid, but the car was really into the water, so we had to lift it. Jack and a solid surface (a big log) and we were able to lift the car. Then some more logs under the wheels. But the problem was that the car was unable to turn and had not enough power to exit backwards, so we took some hooks and belts/ropes and tried to move it. Two bikers with 4×4 quads arrived and we all tried to fix the sitution. The only way was to cut down a small tree so the car could turn, so we did it with the axe. Finally, pulling all of us together and with the help of the quads, we were able to rescue them. We were full of mud and dirty.

Here you have some pictures of the fauna we found entering the pyrinees. You can se frogs, dragonflies, salamanders, sheep and wild Margouts.

So we took together the proper track, that was not easy, and arrived to a lake, where we jumped into the water to clean ourselves.

Late that night, we arrived to SirOscuro place. His place is super nice, extremely clean and minimalistic. He prepared some food for us and we were talking until late.

Next day, after having breakfast with him and Hermes, another good rigger from the north, we left the city and started to drive towards the pyrinees, one of the most beautiful areas of Europe.
